HAITI SCHOOL TRIUMPS IN THE MIDST OF TURMOIL

Chuck Davis

HAITI: ONE DEDICATED CHRISTIAN WOMAN WHO TOOK ON THE CHALLENGE:

It is not unusual for Churches to change their Mission focus or time limits dedicated to one Mission point as often happens when there is a change of Pastoral Leadership. So it was not a big surprise when the Church in the U.S. that had been paying the Staff salaries for the Bord de Mer School set a new time limit on how long they would support a Mission point and then canceled their financial support of Bord de Mer. This imposed an immediate hardship on the School Staff who were dependant on this support to care for their families.

THEN one dedicated Christian woman in the U.S. who was well acquainted with the Church and School asked if she could attempt to raise the funds needed to pay the School Staff salaries. Given "the green light" to do so she immediately launched a campaign to raise the funds needed each month to pay the Staff. God is using this Christian lady in a wonderful way as she gives people and churches opportunities to minister to the beautiful people in Bord der Mer. The Staff (pictured above) are paid and the Children are taught and lives are changed through the message of Jesus and Christian education. Challenges can be turned into opportunites to help and expand God's Kingdom...whether that is to overcome the influence of Voodoo or the lack of dollars. One dedicated Pastor or one Dedicated Woman can make a huge difference in the lives of those living in Haiti or in the lives of those who live around us. All of us working together can make a huge difference for Jesus in this world.
