Caribbean Vision Ministries is about assisting local churches in ministering to the people in the Caribbean. We are not a disaster aid organization though we certainly help when disasters strike, such as in the 2010 earthquake in Haiti and in the 2016 Hurricane Matthew. We are not a relief organization such as those who major in housing, food donations or orphan care, though we do operate an orphanage, have a Three Strands Medical Clinic on our Cap Haitien property, sponsor medical care teams, and provide often for the hungry.
We are an organization composed of people from many countries seeking to provide God’s hope to people who are hurting spiritually, physically, emotionally and mentally. Caribbean Vision Ministries is helping to change lives through starting local churches in the Caribbean in Haiti, the Bahamas, and Trinidad. We also operate Grace Theological Institute in Cap Haitien, Haiti and on three extension campuses to train Pastors and leaders. Lives are being changed through caring for children at House of Hope Orphanage in Haiti. We invite you to join with us in assisting God in His work right now. Haitian Churches in Florida, Haiti, and the Bahamas
In the year 2000 Pastor Elysee Joseph and Dr. Chuck Davis had a vision of planting Haitian churches in South Florida that would not only reach people for Christ but also train them in the Word of God and produce Godly living. God has done a great work from this small beginning both in Florida, the country of Haiti and the Bahamas. God has used many different people, churches and Christian organizations to be a part of the process of God working among the Haitian people.
There are now five Haitian churches that consider themselves a part of this movement in Florida and there are currently 40+ new churches being planted in Haiti and there are three Haitian churches in the Bahamas. And the passion continues to grow. These years of growth have been a product of much prayer, bible & ministry training, cooperative ministry & outreach, and a sharing of resources.
In 2005 the churches in this U.S. movement wanted to be involved in ministering to the people in Haiti. So the Leadership Team made a trip to Haiti and a ministry in Haiti was soon established. Currently there is a movement of churches in Haiti that includes over forty-five churches and church plants in various stages of growth and development. And now there is an established bible institute plus three satellite campuses, an orphanage, a number of church schools, and a medical clinic.
In recent years the Haitian Pastors in South Florida have reached out to Haitians living in the Bahamas and now three Haitian churches have been established in Nassau and have joined the movement. A cooperating local church bible institute is providing bible training for this movement in the Bahamas.
Your prayers and financial gifts will help assure that this movement of God continues to press forward. There are hundreds of thousands of Haitians living in the United States who need Christ and a possible majority of them living in South Florida. There are around 50,000 Haitians living in the Bahamas who need to hear the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and experience salvation in Him.
Trinidad is a land of beauty and great spiritual need
Trinidad is a great place to take people on their first cross-cultural missions trip out of the US. The living conditions and ministering conditions for the team members offer no great health risk. The people are friendly, the ministry options can be challenging but very attainable, the climate can be hot but usually is comfortable & a/c is usually available for sleeping. The food is great though it may be different than your normal diet to some extent. Sound too much like home?
Let me assure you things will be different and you will gain a new understanding of ministering to and with people who are different from you in many ways. The language is English but the island dialect may cause you to wonder about that. Transportation is exciting, the countryside and beaches are beautiful, and strange sights and sounds are everywhere.
But the real reason we go to Trinidad is to share the gospel with the many people who are in spiritual darkness. Grace Church, located near Kelly Village (not far from the airport), is in the middle of the battle for people's souls. Located just a short distance from major Muslim mosques and many Hindu temples the church is truly a lighthouse for Christ. GO2Trinidad Teams go to Trinidad to assist Grace Church in their ministry to reach people for Christ, train people for Christ and send people for Christ.
In past years we have had teams centered on training & outreach, Vacation Bible School & evangelism, men's & women's retreats, neighborhood projects, ministry to orphans and sports events. Below are some photos of the new church facility..
