THE SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE AND OUR TIME SPAN!

THE SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE AND OUR TIME SPAN! Another thing to note about the sanctity of human life being established by creation is this: God Is The Ultimate Judge of Length of Life. “Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be,” (Psalm 139:16 NIV). God knows how long we will live before we are born. God is the ultimate judge of the length of life. God’s authority & control over the length of a person’s life has not arbitrarily been passed on to human beings. No matter what man’s intellect may be, no matter what science says, no matter the condition of human life man is not to be the decider of the length of another

THE SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE AND GOD'S REDEMPTION!

THE SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE AND GOD’S REDEMPTION! The sanctity of human life and its intrinsic value is seen by God’s action of providing redemption for the human race. “Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him,” (Hebrews 9:27-28 NIV). It is clear from the Bible and human history that because of sin all men will die, the Rapture event excluded. Because of that God has provided redemption or salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. Mankind is so valuable to God that He was willing to give His own

THE SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE AND SOCIAL PROTECTION!

THE SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE AND SOCIAL PROTECTION! We were discussing in yesterday’s reflection how God has placed intrinsic value on each person and demonstrated it in placing mankind over all His creation. But that intrinsic value of each person is also demonstrated by God in the Bible by the way God has provided social protection for the human race. “But the Lord said to him, “Not so; anyone who kills Cain will suffer Vengeance seven times over. Then the Lord put a mark on Cain so that no one who found him would kill him,” (Genesis 4:15 NIV). The life of human beings is sacred. God holds sacred even the lives of sinful human beings like Cain who killed Able. He provided protection for Cain

THE SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE AND INTRINSIC VALUE!

THE SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE AND INTRINSIC VALUE! Another thing to note about the sanctity of human life being established by creation is this: God placed intrinsic value on every person. God did this through at least four things we shall think about and reflect on. First is the fact God established man’s position in the world. Second is the fact that God provided social protection for mankind. Third is the fact that God has provided redemption for all of mankind. Fourth is the fact God is the ultimate judge of the length of life for all mankind. As you have discovered by now if you have been reading these daily reflections most of our reflections on a topic cover several days and often a week

THE SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE SEEN IN OUR REFLECTION OF GOD!

THE SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE SEEN IN OUR REFLECTION OF GOD! Another thing to note about the sanctity of human life being established by creation is this: God endowed mankind with God-like Characteristics. “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them,” (Genesis 1:27 NIV). God not only created man but He created man in His own image. What does that mean? It means that man in some way, both in the concrete & abstract, is a reflection of God. For example, God created man as a living, rational being with intelligence. It is for sure God is that way and it is proven by His creation. Man also has a will and the ability to speak and or

THE SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE AND CREATION!

THE SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE AND CREATION! The Sanctity of Human Life is Established by Creation. “Then God said, ‘Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.’ So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; make and female he created them,” (Genesis 1:26-27 NIV). So in the very beginning of the human race the sanctity of mankind is established; we are created in God’s image. At least a thousand years after Abraham’s life ended on planet earth the Psalmist reflected on the sanctity of hu

THE SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE!

THE SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE! Let this quote sink in, “Francis Schaeffer, the 20th Century writer and intellectual, warned us in the 1970’s that abortion was the beginning of a slippery slope of the denigration of human life that would eventually lead to euthanasia and such things as physician-assisted suicides. People then were incredulous.” Lifenews.com (January 10, 2018) reports that since the 1973 Roe v Wade decision, over 60 million of God’s unborn creations have been “legally” destroyed in the US. Only 22 countries in the world have a greater population than the 60 million aborted children of the United States according to the 2017 United Nations “World Population Prospects.” If those a

A TRUE SERVANT OF GOD IS REWARDED!

A TRUE SERVANT OF GOD IS REWARDED. “Therefore God exalted him (Jesus) to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father,” (Philippians 2:9-11 NIV). Jesus came as a servant to die on the cross for us. But Jesus is coming back as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. And every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord. There is no glory without the cross. There is no crown without the suffering. There is no reign of glory without the humble service on earth. And we need to remember that be

A TRUE SERVANT OF GOD IS OBEDIENT!

A TRUE SERVANT OF GOD IS OBEDIENT. “And being found in appearance as a man he (Jesus) humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!” (Philippians 2:8 NIV). Jesus was obedient to the Father in all things—even death on the cross. The bible says that Jesus was tempted in all points just as we are but yet He was without sin. In other words He was obedient to the Father at all times and in all ways—even if it meant going to the cross for you and me. Obedience to God is a key theme of the entire Bible. And the New Testament gives Christians multitudes of guidelines to follow in order to be obedient to God. And God even gives us the Holy Spirit to help us be obedient to Him.

A TRUE SERVANT OF GOD IS HUMBLE!

A TRUE SERVANT OF GOD IS HUMBLE. “And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross,” (Philippians 2:8 NIV). This verse, speaking of Jesus, says, “He humbled himself.” That is intentional action. No one forced Him to do it. It was voluntary. Jesus got the attention of the world through His humility not through pomp and circumstance. Jesus had all the power of the Creator of the Universe but He exhibited it through humility. Jesus performed unbelievable miracles but He always performed miracles in humility. If we serve the world in humility we will get the world’s attention. People in Haiti see people from the United States doing

A TRUE SERVANT OF GOD IS SELFLESS!

A TRUE SERVANT OF GOD IS SELFLESS. “In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness,” (Philippians 2:5-7 NIV). These are some of the greatest and more mysterious verses of the entire Bible and worthy of a message or a book on just these verses BUT today I will just brush by them to make this point on servanthood. Jesus is God and Jesus did not cease to be God when He became man and was born in Bethlehem. But Jesus laid aside for a period of time the outwar
