A THANKSGIVING PRAYER!
A THANKSGIVING PRAYER! The bible says, “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good: his love endures forever,” (Psalm 107:1 NIV). Our family has shared in the following prayer together as we gathered at our home to enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner together.
“Father, thank you for each of our family members whether they are at the table today or scattered in different parts of the world. We acknowledge your blessings to us through their lives and ask that you bless them today. Father, we thank you for the friends that you have placed in our lives and the blessings they have been to us. Please bless them today wherever they are in your world. Father, we thank you for the health you have given us that allows us to be together today and we realize that each day is a blessing from your hands. We pray for those of our family and friends who are having health problems and ask for your healing in their lives. Father, we thank you for the freedom we enjoy in America and we pray for those around the world who are enslaved in their own nation and we pray for the persecuted Christians around the world that you may deliver them from their oppressors.
Father, we thank you for the abundance of food that we will enjoy today and we remember the people of the world who are not as fortunate as us in places such as Haiti and Africa. We pray Lord that you will remind us that we have been called to serve you and others and not just take your blessings and use them for ourselves. Father, we thank you for the salvation we have found in Jesus Christ. We thank you for the blessings we experience because we know Jesus. We thank you for the eternal home that is waiting for us because of your provision for us. Father, we thank you for our time together today and ask that you bless this food we are about to partake of and as you use it to strengthen our bodies may we in turn use our bodies to serve you. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.”
