QUESTIONS?

QUESTIONS? I have a lot of questions about life and living life. My questions sometimes irritate people, sometimes they make people think and sometimes they cause people to have questions about my questions. But the Apostle Paul was a man who asked a lot of questions so I think I am on good grounds with my questions and in good company. When my wife and I visit the doctor I notice he has a lot of questions. He isn’t being nosey he just wants to get some facts because he wants to help my wife and me the best way he can. I appreciate that. I notice the waitress at the restaurant asks a lot of questions also because she wants us to enjoy our meal.

Romans chapter eight is full of questions that help Christians to understand how God works in our lives and how much He loves us. I really like the questions in Romans 8:31-32 NIV. “If God is for us, who can be against us?” and “He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” Those questions in their very asking are a source of great comfort and joy. Sometimes Christians feel as if the whole world is against them but God reminds us that if God Himself is for us no one can really be against us to the extent that they have victory over us. God has a plan for us and that plan is victory not defeat. And if God made the ultimate sacrifice of His Son the Lord Jesus Christ in order to provide eternal salvation for us it is impossible that God would not provide for us all things that are necessary for us in this life and beyond.

The Bible for our edification asks a lot of questions and gives answers to those questions. I think God wants us to ask Him questions and God in His grace will answer those questions for us. But as with questions that people ask us we sometimes need patience, trust, and belief that God is letting us ask those questions because He wants to serve us and benefit us in this life and beyond. And like doctors and waitresses Jesus is a Servant and He is the Great Physician and He fills His Word with questions because He wants to benefit us. So be inquisitive today because God has time to listen to you and He enjoys the conversation and will give you His answers in His Word through His Spirit so that you can be satisfied in your inquisitiveness.
