YOU ARE BEING OBSERVED!
YOU ARE BEING OBSERVED! A rehab center has a wide variety of people on staff. When you have a loved one there as a patient and you spend a lot of time with that patient you tend to become very observant of people and their skills, habits and attitudes. I will not discuss my observations in my personal experiences except to say there are the good and bad, those who encourage and those who need to seek other employment, those who have an attitude of servanthood and those who have an attitude of superiority. My rehab facility observations cause me to reflect on how we Christians appear to others who observe us; and people are observing us. Even before people know we are Christians would our words and actions reflect the fact that we operate on Godly principles? If people were rating us just as human beings where would we appear on their rating scale? Jesus, in speaking of bringing His light to places where we are said, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven, (Matthew 5:16 NIV). People are watching us. What do they see?
In the turmoil of today’s society and the clash of cultures people often have perverted views of how a Christian should respond to the events going on around us. The “social church” of today and its social justice opinions is not to be what determines a Christian’s principles and course of actions in our life. Nor are all the anti-government and anti-God political organizations to be the determining factors in how Christians respond to the world we live in. Jesus has already established the pattern for how Christians should live and act and God has recorded His principles and laws for our life in His Word-the Bible. Christians need to get back to The Book and the Savior for directions on how to live, think and act in life today. Secular news media and social media are not to be the Christian’s guide for life. The Bible is our guide and our actions in life should flow from the Holy Spirit’s control of our life. ("Daily Reflections On God's Word" Volume 1 by Dr. Chuck Davis).
