YOU NEVER KNOW WHERE YOU MEET MILLIE!
YOU NEVER KNOW WHERE YOU MEET MILLIE! In South Florida we have a lot of people from Haiti. So it is no surprise that the lady who cleaned my wife Millie’s hospital room a few years ago is from Port Au Prince, Haiti. It was a surprise that her name was also Millie and she and Millie my wife connected. Millie is a sweet hard working Christian lady and was a joy to see and share with each morning. God is good and places His testimony in the most needful places. I wonder how often God’s people miss God’s intended blessings because we don’t take the time to take an interest in those people around us. Not the rich and powerful but those often considered “lowly in life” by some in our society. The Apostle Paul reminds us to consider ourselves and others in life because it is often surprising what riches of God and blessings of God we may find in the people God has chosen to be part of His Kingdom. “Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not —to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord,” (1 Corinthians 1:26-31 NIV). Consider these things because you never know where you may meet a Mille and find one of God’s blessings in life. ("Daily Reflections On God's Word" Volume 1 by Dr. Chuck Davis).
