LIGHT OUT OF DARKNESS. Christians have the light of Jesus shining in their hearts. “For God who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ,” (2 Corinthians 4:6 NIV). People meet Jesus in different places. The Apostle Paul met Jesus on the road to Damascus. I met Jesus in a church service. My wife met Jesus at a church camp. People meet Jesus in different places. But when a person meets Jesus, God’s light of truth & salvation penetrates the darkness of the human heart and gives that person the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in Christ. When that happens a person becomes “born again.” They are saved. They have become Christians. They have stepped out of spiritual darkness into spiritual light.
As you reflect on these things today I would ask, “Have you experienced the light of Jesus shining in your heart?” If you don’t have a clue what I am talking about then the light hasn’t shone for you yet. God wants you to understand and receive the light found in Jesus Christ that dispels your spiritual darkness. Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life,” (John 8:12 NIV). God wants every person to have the eternal life giving light shining in their heart. That light is found in Jesus. If you haven’t met Jesus today is a good day to meet Him. “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord Jesus will be saved,” (Romans 10:13 NIV) and the light of Jesus will begin shining in their hearts. If the light is shining in your heart say a prayer of thanks to God and have a great day! ("Daily Reflections On God's Word" Volume 1 by Dr. Chuck Davis).
