SOMETIMES ALL YOU CAN DO IS PRAISE GOD! It is possible, even as a Christian, to find ourselves before God and essentially just be spent. We may be out of energy, out of “sorts”, and even out of prayer requests because of the condition in which we find ourselves. Now maybe the “super Christians” never reach this point but I am sure most of us mortals do. And when we find ourselves at that point in life we need to remember to not just look around at our current situation in life, physically, mentally, emotionally, and whatever else but rather to look up to God and remember Him and do this:
“Praise ye Jehovah. Praise God in his sanctuary: Praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: Praise him according to his excellent greatness. Praise him with trumpet sound: Praise him with psaltery and harp. Praise him with timbrel and dance: Praise him with stringed instruments and pipe. Praise him with loud cymbals: Praise him with high sounding cymbals. Let everything that hath breath praise Jehovah. Praise ye Jehovah,” (Psalm 150:1-6 ASV).
Now maybe you don’t have trumpets, psalteries, timbrels, stringed instruments, pipes, and cymbals but as long as you have breath you can praise God. And even when we are “spent” it is amazing what will happen when we bring ourselves to the point to just praise the great and glorious God of creation and eternity who has shed His great love on us. Praise to God even when life has worn us down will remind us whose children we are and the greatness of the power and love of our Father who gives us the strength for this day and the solutions to all our problems.
