THE OMNIPRESENCE OF GOD: TWO LIFE APPLICATIONS FOR CHRISTIANS!
THE OMNIPRESENCE OF GOD: TWO LIFE APPLICATIONS FOR CHRISTIANS. For several days now we have been reflecting on the Omnipresence of God as presented in Psalm 139:7-12. Here are two life applications that you and I can make to this great truth. First, God is with us in every situation in life. Jesus said, “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age,” (Matthew 28:20 NIV). “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you,” (Hebrews 13:5 NIV). As we walk through this life God is our constant companion. He is there by our side. We will not encounter any situation in life that we must face by ourselves. We can be sure God is always with us. He will never leave us nor forsake us for any reason. Even if you are a widow, widower, orphan, single parent, or single person you will never be alone. God is always with you.
A second life application for us concerning the Omnipresence of God is this: God’s presence is a source of blessings. Psalm 23 is a wonderful example of this truth. Some reading this reflection know it by heart but it would be good to read it now. In Psalm 23:1-3 we see that God gives us His guidance through His presence. Because God is Omnipresent he gives us guidance in life. It is easy to get confused in this world we live in but God ends confusion through His guidance. He guides us. He leads us. He shows us how to live in this life and He shows us how to prepare for eternity. In Psalm 23:4 we see that God gives us comfort .God is with us even in the most serious situations in life. When we face life-threatening situations God is there. God is able to deal with our anxieties and our uncertainties. In this verse we also see that God gives us protection. Because God is Omnipresent He is able to provide protection for us in any situation. That is what the rod & staff symbolize. They were instruments of help and protection. Knowing that God is with us helps to end our insecurities and helps to give us a feeling of security.
In Psalm 23:5-6 we are reminded that God is our provision in life. With God at our side we know we will have all the provisions of life we will need. I did not say that we would have all the luxuries of life we want or that we will have all that we think we need. I said God will provide all the provisions of life we will need. God’s ways are often not our ways and His thoughts often are not our thoughts. But God will provide for us because He is present with us. God’s Omnipresence assures us of one other thing noted in Psalm 23:6 and that is God’s security. God’s Omnipresence in our life assures us of earthly and eternal victory. God will love us and God’s goodness will be with us now and in eternity. God is not a deity that created and wound up the universe and then walked away. God is here with us day-by-day providing security in our life. God is not a tree in our front yard and we are not just a manifestation of the spirit of God in the world for a short period of time. We are children of God with a loving heavenly father who watches over us every moment of every day. You and I are precious children of God who have an eternal future with our father in heaven. God will always be with us and He will never forsake us or leave us. ("Daily Reflections On God's Word" Volume 1 by Dr. Chuck Davis).
