THE VICTORY OF HOPE!
THE VICTORY OF HOPE! Remember to put your hope in God. King David in spite of all his problems and doubts and highs and lows in life, in spite of often dire circumstances, and in spite of taunting people said, “Hope thou in God,” (Psalm 42:5, 10 ASV). David found his only hope for life and eternity was the God who created life and inhabits eternity. Don’t let people, things and circumstances dim your vision and mind so that you forget who really promises a favorable and confident future and gives us expectations of great things to come. As Christians our hope is not in people, or government, or self. Our hope should be in God because nothing is impossible with God. HOPELESSNESS becomes HOPEFULNESS in God. Think about these people and how all hope must have been lost from a human standpoint:
Lazarus – THERE WAS NO HOPE FOR A DEAD PERSON – But the God of Hope intervened. Jonah – THERE WAS NO HOPE FOR A PERSON AS GOOD AS DEAD – But the God of Hope intervened. Nebuchadnezzar–THERE WAS NO HOPE FOR A MAD MAN LIVING LIKE AN ANIMAL – But the God of Hope intervened. Jospeh – THERE WAS NO HOPE FOR A JEWISH MAN LOCKED AWAY IN AN EGYPTIAN PRISON – But the God of Hope intervened. Job – THERE WAS NO HOPE FOR A MAN WHO LOST HIS FAMILY, HIS WEALTH, HIS HEALTH AND HAD A WIFE WHO CHIDED HIM ALL DAY LONG TO REJECT GOD AND DIE – But the God of Hope intervened. Now what did you say your problem was that caused you to lose all hope? I am sure Jesus has the answer. Whatever your situation is today the God of Hope can intervene and give you the victory. It may not be in the way you desire. It may not be on your timetable. It may take you through some deep waters. But the God of Hope is the God of Victory. Remember to put your hope in God.
Let me finish with this thought to help you in having the victory of Hope? Get into the Word of God. The Psalmist said, “MY SOUL FAINTS WITH LONGING FOR YOUR SALVATION, BUT I HAVE PUT MY HOPE IN YOUR WORD,” (Palm 119:81 NIV). There is the world’s word and there is Satan’s word. AND THEN there is God’s Word. We need to put our hope in God’s word. When we are being attacked by the enemies of hope we need to put our trust in the God of Hope and we need to put our time and our mind into searching the Word of God for His answers. When the enemies of hope attack I don’t care what people say, even famous people of the world, I want to know what God says. When I am attacked on every side by the enemies of hope I want the Word of God to speak to me about the God of Hope. But often what happens when we are going through the trials and tribulations of life we ignore the God of Hope and the Word of Hope. We look for answers everywhere but in the right places. And when you are looking in the wrong places you will get the wrong answers. Seek the God of love, and mercy and hope in the Word of God and you will find Him. “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him,” (Hebrews 11:6 KJV).
