TRUE OR FALSE? Jesus said, “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven,” (Matthew 7:20-21 NIV). In the context Jesus was talking about those who professed to be God believers and followers but were really fakes. The Apostle Paul conveyed this same truth to the young preacher Titus in this manner, “To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted. They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good,” (Titus 1:15-16 NIV). Without possessing the salvation found in Jesus Christ ALL are lost. To be lost through ignorance of the gospel is one thing. But to know the truth of the gospel and yet to pretend to be saved while rejecting this truth is worse.
We live in a generation where the majority in America professes to be Christian. Why then are so many of the judges in our court system, the politicians in our Congress, the local leaders in our cities and counties, our school systems & Universities & Colleges, yes and even a lot of our Pastors and churches pushing Satan’s agenda. Why? Many of the leaders in these areas profess to be Christians but their actions tell us different. Actions do speak louder than words. But wait a moment! Could it be that what we see is a result of our church pulpits and pews being filled with people just like those described above? For sure we need revival in America. We need to be wise enough to know the real from the fake. We need to demand of all our leaders in every arena who profess to be Christians that they begin to act like Christians and lead and live like Christians should. And we need to get on our knees and pray for revival in this country. And we should start with ourselves. Are we true or false Christians? Are we real or fake? What do our actions in life say to God and others? What is our ultimate destination based on the words of Jesus quoted above? Are we truly one who does the will of our heavenly father?
