BE A REFLECTOR. Reflecting Jesus in the Body of Christ...The Church...would be so much more apparent if we followed this admonition from God’s Word, “Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts,” (Colossians 3:16 NIV). Too often we Christians spend too much time fighting among ourselves rather than letting the Word of God transform us and teach one another. Because of our religious backgrounds too often we become suspicious of each other and let traditions and histories separate us instead of letting the Word of God and the Holy Spirit bring us together.
Wouldn’t it be great if we spent more time cheering on all those in the Body of Christ rather than picking each other apart because of our differences? We, as Christians, may not all enjoy the same style of worship or music or version of the Bible. But true Christians do have the same Heavenly Father, the same Savior Jesus Christ, and the same indwelling Lord Spirit. That is something to rejoice in and sing about. We will always have wolves in sheep’s clothing among us. We will always have Satan’s false messengers spreading a false gospel. But God will give those in the Body of Christ the spiritual insight to tell the difference between the true and the false through His Word and His Holy Spirit. So we should spend time cheering on fellow Christians with encouragement and love though they may be different in many ways from us. Be a reflector and cheerleader today.
