AH! SIMPLICITY IN LIFE! Don’t we all say we like or would like to have simplicity in life? It seems like life is so complicated today. When buying a cup of coffee you are faced with endless choices. The same with autos, mattresses, sheets, underwear, or socks. Even light bulbs or TV channels offer a challenge. May God have mercy on your soul if you go to the breakfast cereal aisle in a grocery store or even attempt to purchase a bottle of milk. In the produce section the varieties of apples are endless. I yearn for simplicity in life.
For my simple questions I like simple answers. Just straight forward answers will do. I don’t need political correctness nor will I think a person is racist if something is said in a way that others don’t like and yet is true regardless of a persons’ color or ethnic background. Simplicity, just correct and simple answers or directions to end confusion is good. You know, short and sweet. The Apostle Thomas must have been that way and Jesus answered him accordingly on one of life’s greatest issues. On this question Jesus left no room for multiple choices or any other options in His answer. Think about it. That’s amazing in today’s religiously inclusive and politically correct society. But then Jesus was different wasn’t He? Here’s the question and the answer. Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me," (Gospel of John 14:5-6 NIV). I love simplicity. From God’s mouth to our ears. Whether you believe it or not this is the answer to life’s most important question. So simple even a child can understand it.
