THE FAITH OF PRAYER!
THE FAITH OF PRAYER! When a Christian prays to God we are exhibiting faith that there is a God and faith that God is listening to what we have to say. In addition our prayer, if it is making a request to God, should be accompanied by a belief that God will answer this prayer in a positive way. So every Christian should pray to God with confidence. Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer,” (Matthew 21:21-22 NIV).
God is a miracle working God and He is able to do what seems to us to be impossible. Prayer is communication between us and God. It is a way for us to share silently or audibly our thoughts, our needs, our hurts, our pain, our failures, our thanksgiving and our requests to God. It is also a time that the Holy Spirit of God can speak to us in the depths of our heart. God wants to hear from us. God wants to respond to us. God wants to grant our requests that we offer up to Him. And God wants us to believe in Him and believe that He can and will grant our request. Faith is a vital element of prayer and opens up an avenue of the working of God in the realm of the impossible from the human standpoint. Faith and confidence go hand in hand in our prayer life. The Apostle John said, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him,” (1 John 5:14-15 NIV).
