WHO IS IN CHARGE HERE? That seems to be the question in society as a whole today. It also seems to be a question in some homes; parents or children? It also seems to be a question in the educational system. And we could go on but I think the critical area where this question applies is in our own personal lives. When a person determines the answer to the question, “Who is in charge of my life?” then the remainder of life will fall into place. The Psalmist gave us what should be the correct answer to that question when he said, “The Lord reigns, he is robed in majesty; the Lord is robed in majesty and armed with strength; indeed, the world is established, firm and secure. Your throne was established long ago; you are from eternity,” (Psalm 93:1-2 NIV).
Only one person can sit on the throne which is the place of power and control; whether we are speaking of our life or whether we are speaking of control of the world. God claims the priority and control based on longevity, majesty, power, and the creation of the world and mankind. God has never relinquished that place of authority to anyone. God has also given us His textbook on Himself and our relationship to Him and the world and eternity. This book is called the Bible and if we allow God and His Book to be in charge of our life then life will go well in spite of difficulties, the world and the devil. When we choose to rebel against God’s control and the directions contained in His Book then we can be sure the ultimate results will be disaster. When God is in control of our life it will be as Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full,” (John 10:10 NIV). Who is in charge of your life?
