REDEMPTION OR CONDEMNATION?

July 17, 2019

REDEMPTION OR CONDEMNATION? The Bible, from beginning to end, speaks a lot about these two things which have eternal consequences for all of us. In simple terms in the Bible redemption speaks of the action that brings about our being saved from the consequences of our sin against God. It is the action of Jesus on the cross of Calvary that makes payment for our sin and redeems us from the penalty of God’s wrath. Condemnation on the other hand is the action of God whereby He passes judgment on our actions or lack of actions and determines they are bad or wrong and with that judgment comes a sentence of death.

For us to experience Redemption it takes an act of faith on our part while Condemnation takes no action at all. Could God have made the choices simpler or explained them more clearly than what He gave us in the following Bible verses, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son,” (Gospel of John 3:16-18 NIV). Redemption or condemnation? Your choice. You really do make it today.
