HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH SUCH PEOPLE! Yes, there are certain people that God tells us as Christians not to have anything to do with; in other words avoid these people at all costs. There are valid reasons for God to warn us about these people and give us such an admonition. The Apostle Paul expressed it to his fellow worker and disciple Timothy in this way, “There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedience to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people,” (2 Timothy 3:1-5 NIV).
Our generation is full of these people. They occupy places of power in government, religion and spiritual organizations of all brands, companies, social organizations, and just about any other sphere around us. Christians need to have a “biblical eye;” seeing things from a biblical standpoint. We need to compare people running for political office in light of the above admonition from Paul and we need to compare people who call themselves spiritual leaders with these worlds as well. It is not good enough to say that we are not electing these politicians to be our Pastor or church leader. We need to remember that we are also not electing people to bring their ungodliness into all the faucets of our daily lives. We also should not be placing people in spiritual leadership who also carry the above listed sins in their lives as well. It is a dangerous and downward spiral for any society that follows the path of leadership of those who devalue life for the unborn and devalue life for those who are aged and nearing the end of their lives. When leaders of the Church or State value the “rights” of those who are involved in all kinds of sexual perversions more than they do the “rights” of all other citizens then we should avoid those leaders at all costs. When these leaders would strip the right of all people to have the freedom of worship so these same perverted people can impose their “rights” upon all people then it is time to avoid these leaders at all costs. It should be our prayer that what Paul said to Timothy comes true in our generation, “But they will not get very far because…their folly will be clear to everyone,” (2 Timothy 3:9 NIV). Let us pray that the Spirit of God will break forth in this country and bring spiritual revival to a nation that is in deep trouble in these last days.
