LOOKING FOR DIRECTION IN LIFE? Many people today just can’t seem to get a handle on what they should do in life on a daily basis. I have to admit there can be a lot of questions in life regarding very basic issues. It really does help to be a Christian when traveling through life because we have a life direction book sent directly from God to help us with life’s tough issues. It is called the Bible. If we read it and apply what we read life has a way of sorting itself out. Certainly the Apostles faced some tough issues in life after the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. The gospel of Matthew in chapter twenty-eight verses 16-20 (NIV) gives us a record of Jesus clarifying life for them and also for us.
“Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshipped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus cam to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me, Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’” We see in these verses some things we should know and understand as we seek direction in life. Jesus is alive. Jesus has directions for us to live by. Jesus is with us each step of the way in life. Jesus has total authority in our life. Jesus has made it a life goal for us to seek to make others followers of Jesus through their commitment, instruction, and obedience to Him as we also obey Him. When we have the focus of our life in obeying the Great Commission with its inherent principles our direction in life will not have as many questions as it does moments of joy of discovery of God’s purposes for us in life. Obedience to Jesus produces great results in discovering life’s directions.
