LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!
LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD! We often complain in America that nobody listens to us and it certainly seems that way very often. Some people are so busy thinking about what they will say next that they don’t listen to what we are saying to them as we stand in front of them. TV commenters are bad about that in conversations they have on air and I have noticed the reporters in the White House are bad about that. They often ask the same question that was just answered by the White House Staff person. And in the General Election of 2016 it seems that many people in America did not hear the voice of the American people and accept the results of the election. And many people over the years have gotten so disgusted by the actions of our politicians that they have just dropped out of the election process. After all it often appears that once many politicians get elected they become stone deaf to the people who elected them. But today is one of the most important elections of our lifetime in America so be sure YOU vote and let your voice be heard along with all of those others who are voting Christian values. Together we will be heard.
While often the politicians are not listening to us there is one who is always listening to us and we need to raise our voices to Him and ask for His directions and blessings not only in the casting of our votes but also in our actions and our prayers on behalf of the elected officials He has allowed to govern our Republic at all levels of government. The Apostle Paul reminded Timothy, “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior,” (1 Timothy 2:1-3 NIV). It is time to vote and elect those who will govern according to God’s principles and it is time to also pray for those who are remaining in office and those who will be elected to office. It is true that sometimes elected officials seem to turn deaf after elections but there is One who is listening and He is able to change hearts and ears so let us lift our voices to God and plead our case to Him
knowing that He loves us and will care for us in spite of those who do not seem to listen to us or Him. As the Apostle Peter said, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you,” (1 Peter 5:7 NIV).
