REDUCING LIFE TO SIMPLE!

October 15, 2018

REDUCING LIFE TO SIMPLE! If we want to know what life should look like if we are really a follower of God and our final destination is heaven then maybe we should read and incorporate into our lives the words and principles of Psalm 15. “Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent? Who may live on your holy mountain? The one whose walk is blameless, who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from their heart; whose tongue utters no slander, who does no wrong to a neighbor, and casts no slur on others; who despises a vile person but honors those who fear the Lord; who keeps an oath even when it hurts, and does not change their mind; who lends money to the poor without interest; who does not accept a bribe against the innocent. Whoever does these things will never be shaken” (Psalm 15:1-5 NIV). This is a good starting place for reducing life to simple.

The bible is clear that “there is none righteousness, no not one” (Romans 3:10) and that is why every human being needs to come to God through Jesus in order to gain salvation and righteousness, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved,” (Acts 4:12 NIV). There is a simple life in this complicated world if we follow God’s plan of salvation and living. God has a single plan for each of us for life and eternity and it is so simple even a child can follow it. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it,” (Mark 10:14-15 NIV). In our society today most people believe they are too smart and sophisticated to follow the simple plan that God offers for life and eternity. God, in knowing mankind’s evaluation of himself, has made His plan for life so simple even a child can follow it lest we deceive ourselves by comparing ourselves with ourselves as man is prone to do (2 Corinthians 10:12). Children have a tendency to reduce life to the simple and enjoy life to the fullest. Maybe we should do the same.
