PRAISE GOD FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW! Trust me on this. It is true. “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows,” (James 1:17 NIV). God said it in His Word and that settles it. Trust me on this. It is true. Some people like to believe that every good thing that happens to them comes because of their hard work or fantastic outlook on life. After reviewing my life span I beg to differ on that opinion. I have seen good things happen to people who appear to have never done a good thing in their life nor do they have a fantastic outlook on life. The reality is that God, “makes His sun to rise on those who are evil and on those who are good, and makes the rain fall on the righteous (those who are morally upright) and the unrighteous (the unrepentant, those who oppose Him),” (Matthew 5:45 Amplified Bible). Though we may have a hard time understanding God and His ways of dealing with mankind, bestowing His goodness on the evil at times and sending difficult times to Christians at times, it still is true that all blessings flow from God. God’s grace, love and mercy encompass the human race as God blesses mankind, even when we don’t deserve it, in His attempts to lead us to His Son the Lord Jesus Christ. But as every student of the Bible knows there is a payday someday and sometimes it is in this life when we reap what we sow but all the time there is a judgment day guaranteed for every person when this life on earth is finished. So we need to praise God here for every blessing on earth and we need to look forward to an eternity praising God for all He has prepared for us in the future.
This past week and this week so far have been good times in praising God as we have seem Millie improving daily in her health progression. The heart doctor who saw her this week doesn’t want to see her for four months and the physical therapist is thrilled at the progress Millie is making in her walking with the aid of a walker. Millie may have the therapist working with her for just a few more weeks. The wheel chair for the most part looks lonely sitting in the corner but I don’t feel sorry for it. Millie’s arms and legs are gaining strength and she is doing more for herself these days. On the visit to the heart doc this week she made the trip with the walker instead of the wheelchair which was a big turnaround from the last trip. He was delighted with how well she was doing. Not bad for someone who came close to death two times this past summer. So yes we are praising God from whom all blessings flow! And while I don’t exactly look forward to taking Millie to the beauty shop for whatever they will do to her hair today I am praising God that Millie is able to go and that I am able to take her. Thanks again for your prayers. They are needed for the day ahead.
