THE SOURCE OF WISDOM. “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you,” (James 1:5 NIV). Sometimes the answers to life aren’t clear and obvious to all concerned. Sometimes opinions are divided among people involved in the common situations of life and sometimes it just seems confusion reigns. But the source of all wisdom is God and God often uses people to share His wisdom with us. I am thankful for the many friends I have in life who have wisdom gained from God over a lifetime and I am thankful they share some of that wisdom with me. And I am thankful for the new people God brings into my life who also have God discovered wisdom.
But several things are inherent in finding wisdom. First, we must realize that we don’t always have the wisdom we need in every situation. Second, we must be willing to humble ourselves and realize that we don’t have God’s wisdom in every situation and we must seek that wisdom from God. Third, we must realize God is more than willing to give us His wisdom generously without finding fault with us for our shortcomings. Fourth, we must realize the outcome is certain and God will give us His wisdom. God is always good and God is always gracious to us when we seek Him and His wisdom. We must also realize that God will use many different people and many different ways to reveal His wisdom to us. So let us face each day seeking God’s wisdom for the day because God is waiting to hear from us and He is more than willing to provide answers for each day.
