THE PRESENT MANIFESTATION OF GOD'S GLORY THROUGH US! Colossians1:27 says that God has appointed us saints, us Christians, to make known among the non-Christians the “glorious riches of this mystery.” This plan of people having a confident expectation of sharing in the glory of God through Christ dwelling in them is a glorious thing and it has glorious results. We saw some of those results in an earlier post when we talked about the inheritance we have in Christ safeguarded in heaven for us. We have also talked about the ways God manifested Himself in prior generations but Jesus doesn’t bodily walk the earth at this time. Jesus indwells us and we walk the earth. Jesus manifests His glory through us as we share with others the “glorious riches” that Jesus offers. People need to hear the glorious story of the glorious son and his glorious people through whom He offers a glorious Hope.
The Apostle Paul said, “God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me” (Colossians 1:27-29 NIV). As we, like Paul, sound forth the Word of God and share it at every opportunity given to us with wisdom, and energetically, God will allow His glory to shine forth through His glorious story of salvation and redemption. We may not be Moses, or the Apostle Paul, or Billy Graham but we can be vessels containing “Christ in us, the hope of glory” and we can help others to find their way to being a vessel for Christ’s glory as well.
Each of us can manifest God’s glory this day and this week by living for God in an ethical and moral and loving manner. We can let the “glorious riches” of God’s glory be seen through us. God will shine through us if we let Him. God will allow us to offer the message of hope to people if we will present ourselves to Him so He can use us. We have the hope of Glory because of the King of Glory, Jesus Christ living in us. Others need to hear the message also.
