GOD ALWAYS REMEMBERS US!
GOD ALWAYS REMEMBER US: Sometimes in the middle of what seems like impossible situations or in situations that just drag on and it appears there is no answer to the current dilemma one is inclined to think that maybe God has forgotten them. I don’t know but I can imagine that Noah had some thoughts running along those lines after one hundred and fifty days on the boat with occupants from the animal kingdom. “The waters flooded the earth for a hundred and fifty days” (Genesis 7:24 NIV). I don’t know for sure about Noah but I do believe most of us would be staining a little bit. And because we have God’s Word to assure us that God is always present with us in every situation (Hebrews 13:5) maybe we would do well on that boat. But Noah didn’t have THE book. And probably God wasn’t speaking in his ear all that time, part of that time, or at all. God put him, his family, and the animals on the boat and set it adrift. And there wasn’t a marina or a dock in sight. And there weren’t many deck hands either.
Right on time and just in time God showed up. “But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded” (Genesis 8:1 NIV). Now God is using the language of men when it says “God remembered” because God never really forgets in the sense that we forget. But God is simply stating the obvious; it was time for God to complete the covenant He had made with Noah (Genesis 6:18). When we are one of God’s children we are never forgotten and God will never leave us or forsake us. Like Noah difficult or seemingly impossible circumstances will arise in our lives. The way through or out may appear unclear. And right on time God will show up. As Jesus said, “I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:20). God is always there and God never has a memory lapse. And the new covenant we have with God through the blood of Christ assures us that He always remembers us.
