Medical Care

June 5, 2017

Medical care is more than pills, shots, tongue depressors, tests and scopes. It is also about interaction with other human beings in a compassionate way.

Three Strands, in partnership with Caribbean Vision Ministries, is providing  quality health care to a very neglected population in the Cap Haitien area of Haiti. Three Strands has a clinic on the campus property of Grace Theological Institute and provides daily medical care to the residents of the surrounding community. This arrangement provides for both the physical and spiritual needs of people often forgotten in society. (Photo above of Team Member Nurse Brenda Koeller & Translators Pastor Arnold Accilien & Pastor Odianes Almonor).

In 2017 Three Strands will also provide five GO2Haiti Medical Teams to augment the services of the Three Strands Clinic. These Teams are each comprised of about ten people who have medical skills in a wide variety of the medical profession or are auxillary personnel from local churches who serve in assisting the medical professionals.

The Teams usually serve at the Clinic 2-3 days and the remainder of  their week they do mobile clinics, usually in church or school facilities, in other areas that receive very little medical care. The Team also goes to House of Hope Orphanage to minister to the children and staff and often to others that have needs.

The total number of patients seen in a week of ministry in Haiti will usually be over five hundred people of all ages. This is an exhausting ministry that requires a major logistical undertaking before and after the week of clinical service. The Team Members work hard, sacrifice much, love what they do, and many return to Haiti often. All members raise their own financial support to serve in Haiti and in addition help to collect the medical supplies needed to meet the needs of the Haiti people.

Your help is needed for Three Strands and Caribbean Vision Ministries to continue these medical and spiritual ministries to the Haitian people. First, you can pray for Mike Taylor (Executive Director of Three Strands) and Dr. Babak Iranmanesh (the Haiti Medical Coordinator for Three Strands) that God would give them wisdom in striving to meet the needs of the Haitian people; Second, pray concerning your own involvement in joining one of the Three Strands Medical Teams. Could God use your skills in this ministry?; Third, pray about giving financially to Three Strands so that the medical clinic can continue to operate with adequate staff and medical supplies.

You can send your financial gifts to Three Strands, PO Box 753, Winona Lake, IN 46590 or you can give on the Three Strands website at three-strands.org.

Caribbean Vision Ministries, while primarily involved in church planting and multiple theological training institutes in Haiti, is also involved in serving Haitian people with medical care, primary school education, vocational training, and other care ministries.

CVM depends on its relationships and partnerships with churches, organizations, and individuals in the U.S. to provide the resources necessary to carry on God's ministry in Haiti. Your prayers and financial gifts will help us to continue to share the Word of God and hold out hope to those around us in Haiti.Thank you for caring.

All donations to CVM should be sent to: Caribbean Vision Ministries, 14458 Via Royale, Delray Beach, FL 33446 and marked for Haiti Ministry. You may also give on our website at: caribbeanvisionministries.org.
