Church planting is hard work and it usually takes years of sowing spiritual seed to produce a fruitful crop for the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace Church Trinidad has seen many people accept Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord over the course of many yeara of proclaiming the gospel and sowing spiritual seed. All this time they have been meeting for worship in a rented facility but now God is providing the resources to build their own church building for a place of worship and ministry. These are exciting times for them. In the space below Pastor Roger Dabideen shares this letter with us.
Dear Friends and Fellow Believers in Christ,
We give all thanks and glory to our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ as Grace Church celebrated our 9th Church Anniversary in August. In those years, we have grown steadily in numbers and in spirit. Our congregation has grown from 15 in 2006 to our current figure of 105. Our services and programs have expanded from Sunday Worship and Wednesday Night Bible Study & Prayer meetings to include Youth meetings on Saturday and outreach into communities during the week. In those years, we have seen our members develop in their knowledge of GOD'S Word and making a living faith in Christ, their way of life. We have recently started a Movie Ministry showing Christian based movies twice a month. This is open to all and the response has been very positive thus far.
We thank God for what we have been able to do for Christ with what we have had so far. However, we would surely be able to do far more with more space that's designed to fit our needs and our growing church. Our prayer for land for a church building has finally been answered as for the last 9 years we have been renting a facility at Cunupia .As you well know, such rental spaces come with various inconveniences that are not likely to be part of having a worship place of your own.
On October 4th this year, we raised our hands in praise in our ground breaking ceremony to begin construction of our building. Two weeks after, we were told that the church has to move by December 31st 2015.This is well before our projected completion date of December 2016 for the new church. With the funds saved, we have reached the foundation stages, but we are running short of funds to complete our church in light of these existing circumstances.
For those who have visited our shores during the past nine (9) years ,working and evangelising with us through VBS, Ladies Retreats, visitations to hospitals, schools and orphanages throughout the island , this appeal for your financial support should touch your heart and home. We are seeking donations, especially fromthose who have been on Mission trips to Trinidad and not only know us personally, but can identify with our needs.
On behalf of Grace Church, I am making a request for you to partner with our vision and assist financially or by being part of a building team to help us with construction. If you have never visited us in Trinidad, we offer you a chance to serve GOD in a multicultural setting, while building GODS church with awesome people, good food and great fellowship.
We urge you to please make a tax-deductible and generous donation to our church building fund. We have a goal of $ 50,000.00 US for the completion of our church. We believe the Holy Spirit will encourage you to consider giving us a gracious financial gift as any amount would help. We also believe that God will reward you abundantly for it.
Thank you for your help and may God continue to bless you. I look forward to your blessings.
Thanks and Regards,
Pastor Roger Dabideen
