Chuck & Millie Davis invite you to be a part of a team of people serving in Trinidad who will make a real difference for God's Kingdom.

Printed below is a recent letter from one our GO2Trinidad Team Coordinators.  I trust what Samantha shares will encourage you to consider serving in Trinidad as well. Trinidad is a place where God can take the average Christian and use them in great ways.
Greetings from Raleigh, North Carolina!  It is hard to believe that our trip to visit our friends at Grace Church in Trinidad and Tobago has already come and gone and it has come time for me to reflect and share what great things the Lord did during our time there.  I found my mind wandering the other day and I began to really think and reflect on the amazing ways God has been faithful to expand His Kingdom in and through Grace Church and Caribbean Vision's Ministry there.

Five years ago next month I sat in a small room at the very first service at Grace Church.  Half of the people were American and I'm pretty sure the other half were Roger's family (the Pastor).  Now, walk into Grace Church on any Sunday morning and there is barely room to move; people are greeting one another and children are bustling around getting ready to head upstairs to their Sunday School class.  God has been faithful to use the people of Grace to change lives for an eternity.  I am grateful and humbled to be a part of what He is doing there.

This year, in addition to our normal VBS, God opened some very cool new doors for us. Our team was able to reach out to a special needs school near the church.  We were able to spend the morning with the children and share the story of Jesus and what He had done for them.  God moved in big ways and we are hopeful that this is a partnership that we can continue.  We were also able to share Jesus' message with about 150 students at Madras Road Government School.  Again, God moved.  I love knowing that I will see some of these children someday as they come into heaven with angels rejoicing.

One of the things we, as a team, were most thankful for, did not even involve children. This year, we took a step of faith and expanded our VBS to include an adult "book study" with parents and adults from Grace.  Men and women signed up in advance and committed to read Charles Swindoll's book "So You Want To Be Like Christ".  Every day a group of about 25 adults and youth gathered to discuss what it means to "be like Christ" and how that fleshes out in every day life.  Praise the Lord, we saw lives that will never be the same.  God calls us to not only be believers, but to be disciples.  Daily we saw disciples of Christ being made.  We are so excited to be able to continue to build into these relationships in the future!  God is good!

It is so amazing to watch my friends and teammates while we are in Trinidad.  Many have committed years of their lives to serving the Lord there.  As I looked around the team there are people who have journeyed with me to Trinidad 4, 5, 6, 7 times.  I'm so thankful for their commitment and I know the people at Grace are too.  We love that our trips to Trinidad are not just a "short term mission trip", but truly are trips to minister to and alongside family.  (Below are some photos of team at work)

TRINIDAD & MISSION TEAMS

Trinidad is a great place to take people on their first cross-cultural missions trip out of the US. The living conditions and ministering conditions for the team members offer no great health risk. The people are friendly, the ministry options can be challenging but very attainable, the climate can be hot but usually is comfortable & a/c is usually available for sleeping. The food is great though it may be different than your normal diet to some extent. Sound too much like home?

Let me assure you things will be different and you will gain a new understanding of ministering to and with people who are different from you in many ways. The language is English but the island dialect may cause you to wonder about that. Transportation is exciting, the countryside and beaches are beautiful, and strange sights and sounds are everywhere.

But the real reason we go to Trinidad is to share the gospel with the many people who are in spiritual darkness. Grace Church, located in the city of Cunupia, is in the middle of the battle for people's souls. Located just a short distance from a major Muslim mosque and many Hindu temples the church is truly a lighthouse for Christ. GO2Trinidad Teams go to Trinidad to assist Grace Church in their ministry to reach people for Christ, train people for Christ and send people for Christ.

In 2011 we have had teams centered on training & outreach, Vacation Bible School & evangelism, men's & women's retreats, and neighborhood projects and ministry.
